In 1997 we began marketing our products online, where consumers and retailers could have easy access to a wide variety of natural products.

Paul Burstyn has been president of Island Natural since it's inception. He became fascinated with natural health while still in college. He joined and later managed a food co-op that was an offshoot of a college course called "community building" at Richmond College in Staten Island in 1970. It was here that he got his first exposure to the world of natural health and the fledgling natural foods business.

After graduating college, Paul worked in various capacities in the natural products industry- first as a store manager in a retail health food store in Brooklyn, then as a salesman for a small wholesale distributor.

Teaming up with his father Adam, Paul started Island Natural in 1979, and developed it into a major natural food distributor.

Within the natural products industry, there are many companies that produce a wide variety of exciting and high quality products. Island's goal is to locate the most exciting, interesting, and innovative natural products and bring them right to your home or store.
